UETR together with SMEUnited and other European horizontal and sectoral social partners exchanged on the 13th of September with the European Commission DG EMPL on the report on the implementation of the Directive (EU) 2018/957 on posting of workers.
UETR Secretary General Marco Digioia stressed the importance of coordinating with the Directive (EU) 2020/1057 on posting of drivers and to look at this piece of legislation for a number of solutions (IMI data base for posting declaration, Q&A, training).
It was confirmed by the EC that the provision in the posting of workers legislation extending the scope of application of collective agreements which have been declared universally applicable in any sector, also includes road transport.
For the difficulties in identifying remuneration it was suggested by many stakeholders to consider the role ELA could play in gathering information on collective agreements and also for calculation of remuneration. These last two points are currently also challenging in the road haulage sector, Digioia highlighted.
